Not Green

So today’s WIAW is going to be short and sweet. I even considered calling it Wordless WIAW, buttttt we all know that I like to talk. Or type. You know what I mean. πŸ˜‰

First of all, I feel like I need to clarify: the pictures that I put in my Green post were completely, 100%, absolutely NOT from this week. Here are some pictures from this week:

Β photo-1

Definitely not green. Have I mentioned that I am sick of the snow? And the cold weather? And that it’s over halfway through March and the temperatures are around 20* during the day?

Second, I promised you a recipe on Monday, and then yesterday, and it’s still not here today. I think I should stop promising posts by a certain date because I always feel awful when that date comes and goes. For now, I’ll just say that I will have plenty of recipes for you in the near future.

If you recall, last week I said that I was so surprised how busy the week after spring break was? Well, it looks like it’s become a norm. Yesterday, for example, I had the following things due: a short story (mine ended up being I think 13 pages), two other short stories read and annotated, a final draft of an annotated bibliography, 40 pages of reading, a unit plan (which made me appreciate all the good teachers out there even more than I already do), a history lecture to give, a lesson plan to find, and a primary document around which to create a lesson. Oh my gosh.

The biggest lesson learned in all of this? DON’T PROCRASTINATE!

I say that, but honestly, I’m kind of procrastinating while writing this post and I know I will probably continue to procrastinate throughout my life. I find that I get more things accomplished in better quality if I have that pressure on me. It’s not fun, but I suppose it works. Except yesterday. That was just way too much.

Wow. I sure am glad I didn’t make this a Wordless WIAW.

If you’ve stuck through this rant, I thank you. If not, I don’t blame you. πŸ™‚

Head on over to Peas and Crayons for more WIAW fun!

Chobani Greek yogurt + Kashi Go Lean Protein cereal + raisins.

I’ve made this lunch for myself a few times this week and it is SUCH a winner.

It is: a whole grain wrap (I use Flat Out brand’s Italian herb flavor) spread with hummus, topped with lots of mixed greens, and a packet of tuna. That’s it! It travels so well and tastes unbelievable. Definitely a keeper! This day I paired it with roasted sweet potatoes.

This little plate (plus unpictured hummus and string cheese) actually was my dinner Sunday evening, but it is also a nice compilation of some of the snacks I’ve had over the week.

My new found love? Hummus! I’ve always hesitated eating it in the past just because sometimes chickpeas don’t like me. They’ve previously brought on itchiness in my mouth and throat, which is never a good sign. But when I saw it at the store the other day, I figured I might as well give it a go. I love it.

I love Instagram partially because I can make my somewhat bad pictures look somewhat artsy. πŸ˜›

I’m not going to go overboard, because I don’t want to develop an intolerance to chickpeas or something, but I really have been enjoying it.

I created this..stir fry, I guess…on Monday and have been enjoying the leftovers. Yet another recipe I will have up for you all sometime soon. (I actually have a list on my desk of the recipes I want to post!)

Some of you probably saw this the other day: frozen yogurt for the win.

I picked up a tiny bag of these Cadbury Mini Eggs for the first time yesterday. I was expecting good, but not THIS good! Oh man.

This is going to sound strange, but other than the wonderful chocolatey taste they already had, the taste reminded me of England! Haha! Seriously, the chocolate on the inside tasted like Minstrel candies, which were my favorite when I was living there.

Workouts March 17-23
Sunday: off
Monday: I ran a 5k! On the treadmill, but still! I’m pretty pleased with that.
Tuesday: off (I fell asleep after midnight and got up around six, all because of the work I put off had to do)
Wednesday: Ab Ripper X + Pinterest exercises
Thursday: 25 minute jog + 25 minute walk on treadmill
Friday: P90X yoga
Saturday: ???

Well, I really should be off doing homework or maybe even sleeping.

But, because I need a bit of cheering up and maybe you do too, here is a video of Ella. I had forgotten about it and recently found it in iPhoto. I love it. πŸ™‚

I love the little grunting noises she makes! (If you can’t see the video, you might have to either visit this page or click on the link.)

Questions for the day:

Are you a procrastinator like me?

If not, what are some tips you can share that will help me get rid of that problem?

What was the best thing you ate all week?

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Oh my goodness that chocolate mess that is called frozen yogurt. I need to get myself some of that STAT.

  2. Hey… Congrats on being first πŸ™‚

I love how you “decorated” your hummus container. Lol. Nice layout with those carrots πŸ˜‰ I’ve only ever tried homemade hummus, but I just didn’t see all of the hype. Sometime in the future I’ll have to give it another go with an actual recipe or (gasp!) buy a store version.

Oh my gosh my dog is the same way with those dryer balls! Not quite biting them, just like snipping the air. Lol. So funny.

    1. I’m kind of that way with guacamole. I just can’t jump on that train, for some reason. We all have our thing, I guess. πŸ˜‰

      Haha dogs are so funny!

  3. Congrats on your 5K! It’s a big deal, treadmill or not – you’re running a hell of a lot further than most people ever dream of, so you deserve serious credit for this. πŸ™‚ And welcome to the amazing world of hummus! I’m a hummus addict, and it goes well with just about anything: pretzels, carrots (your picture with all the carrots is awesome, BTW), bell peppers, celery, chips…it’s one versatile condiment. πŸ™‚

    1. You’re so sweet! Thanks so much for the support! And I’m definitely going to have to try all of those things with hummus. πŸ˜‰

  4. I am on a hummus kick too, I hadn’t eaten it in ages and all of a sudden all i want is hummus

  5. Tuna and hummus?? I’ve got some red pepper hummus in my fridge right now- I might need to try this!

  6. I can’t wait to try the dinner recipe…it looks amazing! But I won’t pressure you to tell us when you’re going to post it, haha. Also, your dog is adorable!

    1. Thank you! Whew, pressure’s off! πŸ˜‰

  7. I’m totally procrastinating by reading blogs… oops… back to work! I’m so sick of snow too!

    1. Haha I do that way too often!

  8. I could really go for some froyo right now πŸ˜›

  9. Love your tuna wrap idea. Also, those Cadbury eggs are totally better than they “should” be. At least that’s why I haven’t bought any in yearsβ€”that and I’m afraid I’ll be disappointed if they aren’t as good as I remember.

  10. Your yogurt bowl and veggie bowl look delicious!

  11. I’m a huge planner so it’s not often that I procrastinate. My biggest secret is writing things down and keeping a to-do list/calendar. It helps a lot!

    1. That’s true, lists do help me get stuff done. I think I’ll have to start making more of them, though. πŸ™‚

  12. Ella is so cute and makes me wish I had a dog, too.
If I’m a procrastinator? Never [read: absolutely]. But just like you I’ve noticed I’m actually more productive and successful working under pressure in most cases. I’ll keep following the comments on this post to see whether somebody has advice on how to change those habits, though ;). Kudos for getting all you mentioned done in a single day! How did you manage??

    1. Thanks! I really don’t know…I suppose out of necessity! πŸ˜‰

  13. OMG I used to love those Cadbury eggs. I remember how excited I would get when those purple bags reappeared on the shelves!

  14. Cadbury mini eggs are my one true ADDICTION, I cant get enough of them! YUM

  15. I totally noshed on some hummus this weekend. I love that stuff. Your stir fry looks amazing. I love all the colors and the quinoa (yes it’s quinoa in there?).
I can’t even remember the last time I had a Cadbury egg but they were so good. A thin candy like chocolate coating and a crunch airy inside. Mmmm.
