Before I get into the third day of my Paris recap, I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of you who expressed concern and sent well-wishes, prayers, and thought my way about my allergy test. Thankfully, all of the results came back negative. They did suggest that I cut back on wheat, corn, rice, and potatoes, and completely eliminate rye to help relieve my EOE symptoms, but that’s manageable. I’m so so glad none of the allergens tested positive, and I’m so thankful for all of the support from you all! 😀

Our final day in France was spent doing a bit of traveling. We got on the bus early in the morning and headed to the Palace of Versailles.

It had been cold the entire weekend, but the lack of sun and the addition of wind made for a verrrry chilly day!

As I mentioned before, the company we took the tour through did not really give us a great itinerary. Based on the info on their website, I had thought we were going to go inside the Palace…but our tickets did not include that. I really wish they would have, but I guess that’s another adventure for another time!

The drive leading up to the Palace was built on a slope. King Louis (I forget which one) was short, and had wanted to appear taller than people arriving at his palace. Ha!

Because we couldn’t go inside, they gave us about an hour to wander around the grounds, which were really quite amazing. I can only imagine what they would have looked like in the spring or summer!

I love these statues. Paintings hold my interest for a little while, but I could look at statues all day!

After a little while of wandering the grounds, we were given about two hours to head to the town of Versailles, where there was a beautiful, lively market.

All too soon, we were piling back on the coach.

But, we were heading back to Paris, so it wasn’t all that bad. 😉

Next up was Moulin Rouge:

I have to say, it was interesting to see, but that part of the city is suuuuuper shady! I wasn’t a fan. 😮

Fortunately, we soon headed up a small hill to Montmartre and the Basilica of the Sacré Cœur.

There were  amazing views of the city from up there.

Next to the Basilica was a cute little Christmas market.

And on the other side of that were a whole bunch of winding little streets that led back into Paris. It was so much fun exploring!

Hello, there!

And with that, it was time to say goodbye to Paris!

Words cannot describe how amazing that trip was. Paris is definitely one of my favorite cities in the world.
