Today, I was going to do a post about Christmas ornaments and decorations, cookies, family and friends, and other warm, happy things.
Then the tragedy in Connecticut happened.
I was actually in the middle of making cookies when I started seeing a whole bunch of articles and statuses on my Facebook newsfeed. I turned on NBC News and learned about the awful story. Baking cookies suddenly seemed so trivial and frivolous.
I’m not a parent, but I love my little cousins and the kids I babysit. I can’t even imagine what the parents and families of the victims and survivors, the first responders, the police, and everyone else must be going through. My thoughts and prayers are with those people today.
Please keep those people in your thoughts today, and hug those you love a little tighter.
