Friday Food Finds

Hello hello! It’s Friday!

Even though this week went by pretty quickly for me, I’m still very glad it’s the weekend. I’m also very excited because tomorrow I get to go pick up my ballot to VOTE for the first time!

Thanks again to Madison at Eating 4 Balance for this great Friday idea!

As I said last time: To any bloggers whose photos I use that do not want me to do so, please email me to let me know! livliveslife (at) gmail (dot) com!

Recipe Roundup

I’ve never tried a spinach soup before, but I love spinach artichoke dip, so this Creamy Spinach Artichoke Soup by Nutritionella really caught my eye! I think it would be fantastic served with a side of crusty garlic bread.

I love using Butterscotch chips in baking…that smell and taste is so warm and fall-like. That’s exactly why I bookmarked this Whole Wheat Pumpkin Butterscotch Bread by Cait. Helllllllo, fall flavors!

This Simple Sesame Chicken Skillet from How Sweet Eats looks just incredible. I hardly ever eat Asian-inspired food (I’m not too sure why…perhaps always watching out for peanut oil at restaurants has instilled a habit of avoiding the cuisine?)

Last but not least….Ummm how gorgeous and holiday-y are these Cranberry Bliss Bars from Averie Cooks? I have yet to find a recipe from her that I don’t want to try out!

Store Finds

I was on my way to the food court for lunch yesterday when I stopped dead in my tracks for a moment and turned right back around in the opposite direction. The reason for my strange walking behavior? I saw a whole bunch of people coming from Starbucks with those adorable little red cups in hand. I had to get one. Those innocent little red cups hold hypnosis powers for me. I can’t resist! They’re just so cute and happy!

Soooo I got a Raspberry Hot Chocolate. Was I in the mood for it? No, not really. Did it taste good? Oh yes. Was it in a red cup? Yep! Win. 🙂

I’ve said it before on this blog: Target is dangerous for me. It is never – I repeat, never! – a good idea for me to go in there with the intention of “just looking”. Because you know what happens if I “just look”?

I spend money on things that I kind of sort of don’t really at all need. BUT. Everything that I bought today was on clearance. Which makes it kind of ok.

(I apologize for the bad quality picture.) First off, all of the candy at Target was 30-50% off because it’s after Halloween. That is how those M&Ms somehow ended up in my hands. The black plastic cutlery? I don’t really have reasoning behind that other than “sometimes I don’t like to do dishes and this plastic stuff is $1.50 because it’s black which means it’s Halloween which means it’s discounted”. Ugh. See? I have a problem. Finally, those other things are some adorable autumn-themed cupcake liners. They’re not necessary, but they were also on clearance and very cute…so they too ended up in my hands.

Am I the only one out there with a Target problem???

Finally, just for smiles, I thought I’d share this link to Make It and Love It – it’s a compilation of a whole bunch of amazing, adorable, and hilarious costumes! I got a couple of laughs out of the expressions on some of the kids’ faces…they get so into the Halloween spirit!

Well, that’s all for now! Have a great day!

Question: Do you have anything fun going on this weekend?
