I can’t believe it. Another year has flown by, and we’re moving on to 2014!!
That number just looks so weird to me. 2-0-1-4. It makes me feel old. Does anyone else feel that way?
To celebrate this past year, I wanted to write down an event or accomplishment of mine from each month within 2013. I feel like in the midst of things, when I’m just living my life, I forget how much I am actually capable of and how blessed I am to have all of these opportunities. I really don’t want this to read like I’m bragging…I often think of my site as not only a place to connect with people and share recipes, but also as a type of journal. It will be so fun to look back on these types of posts!
January: I began my final semester of university courses.
February: I was a finalist contestant in the Incredible Edibles contest, and I went pescetarian for the whole month.
March: with my grandpa’s passing, I attended and had a part in a funeral of a family member.
April: I posted two of my top recipes this month! (See below.)
May: I entered and ran my first 5K.
June: with my family’s help, I threw a surprise birthday party for my parents, and had a load of fun doing it.
July: we took a wonderfully relaxing vacation to North Carolina’s coast, and I ran essentially two 5Ks on the beach.
August: I attended my first ever PD (professional development) days within a high school setting.
September: I began student teaching some of the best students and with some of the best teachers, making it one of my favorite experiences I’ve ever had.
October: I turned 22!
November: I hosted my first blog giveaway.
December: I graduated university with a bachelor’s degree in English education.
And now, for a little celebration of my blog! I’m sorry to say I had to be a bit neglectful of it the latter third of the year due to student teaching. That was my job, and I loved devoting time to it, but I am a bit sad to see how “down” my site has become. However, I had more hits and made more “friendships” this year than I ever expected, so it’s been a good one. I’m also pleased that my top posts of 2013 are all recipes! Exactly why I started LLL – to reach out to others with allergies and to show those who don’t have them how delicious, interesting, and exciting allergy-friendly food can be.🙂
Many thanks to everyone who has reached out to me through blogging, everyone who has continued reading for the past two years, and everyone who supports me on a daily basis in blogging and elsewhere. I hope you all have wonderful last day of 2013, and ring in the New Year well!
