WIAW Fitness

Wednesdays are always one of the hardest days for me (they’re in the middle of a workweek, so I’m tired but still have a few days left), but boy this week has just flown by! While I don’t like to wish time away, I’m not complaining – I’m so looking forward to sleeping in a bit this weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope your week has been going well, too!

Breakfast

Yep, you guessed it!

Lunch

A “pizza” made using a Flat-Out whole grain wrap and mixed veggies. The picture that I took turned out awful, so…just use your imagination! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Snacks (over the course of the day)

A handful of these crackers.

And a serving of M&Ms.

Dinner

I didn’t really know what I wanted for dinner, so I quickly baked up some sweet potato, threw together a protein smoothie, and addedย a brown rice cake with sunflower seed butter and jelly.
I never understood the pity or why people’s jaws always dropped when I told them I couldn’t eat PB&J sandwiches, but this has sort of clued me in! I love the sweet/salty combo the butter and the jelly make. Yum. This was a super random dinner, but, whatever works, I guess!

Dessert

I did, however, know exactly what I wanted for dessert. Ohhh my goodness. It’s another quick but amazing recipe: 5 Minute Microwave Brownie.

I’m trying to fine-tune it to make it egg, nut, and dairy free as well as somewhat healthy, so I’m not going to post the recipe until it is perfect for you all! Stay tuned! ๐Ÿ™‚

Workouts July 15-21

Over this past weekend I looked up some circuit training workouts (strength, cardio, that sort of thing) and wrote them down. I also made up a few based on a class that my mom and I took at our gym last Friday. I LOVE them. Most of those that I wrote down take anywhere from 10-30 minutes, depending on how often you repeat them, so it’s a perfect amount of time and I am so sore the day afterword. I’ll post the ones I made up and the links to the pages I found sometime soon. So anyway, that’s what I mean by “circuit training” below.

Sunday: off
Monday: 17 minutes of jogging intervals, 45 minutes total; 15 minutes circuit training
Tuesday: 10 minutes elliptical trainer; 40 minutes circuit training
Wednesday: 30-Day Shred level 3 (my favorite!); 20 minutes elliptical trainer
Thursday: rest
Friday: Bob Harper’s Weight Loss Yoga
Saturday: 60 minutes on treadmill; 20 minutes circuit training

In other news, the kids and I made homemade playdough yesterday, and it was a huge hit. If you’re looking for something fun to do with your kids (or those that you babysit! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ), here is the recipe – which, might I add, comes from one of my favorite blogs! I hope you check it out! ๐Ÿ™‚
I also saw the third “Ice Age” movie today with the boys, which was very good and funny; and it was a great way to escape the heat for a bit. Apparently this is a record-breaking month in my area: the absolute hottest we’ve ever had, with all of the days having an average temperature over 91*! Yikes.

I hope you’re staying cool wherever you are! ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a great evening!

Iย just had to post this picture…so much cuteness and mischief in one tiny creature!
