Hello everyone! I hope your Monday is off to a great start!
I also hope you’ve been enjoying my posts about the New England Trip my family took a few years back. If you’ve missed them and want to catch up, here are the links:
- Day One: Boston
- Day Two: Celebrating the 4th of July in Boston!
- Day Three: Harvard University and a car tour
- Day Four: Little Italy and Wentworth by the Sea
Our fifth day on the East Coast was one of my favorites. In the morning, we started off in Portsmouth, NH, at a little bay. It was the site of an old artillery fort, and it was just a gorgeous place to take pictures. Most of these are mine, but one was taken by my brother. (You’ll be able to tell which one.)
After wandering around there for a while, we got back into the car to drive to the docks to get on our whale watching boat!
About an hour into the trip, we spotted some dolphins!
There were so many of them, and they were so close! It must have been feeding time for them – they stayed really close to us, and were jumping out of the water and doing amazing flips.
After another hour or so (and after the dolphins swam off) we finally spotted a whale. The first one was a minke whale.
The second one spotted was a huge humpback. You could hear it spouting water from a few hundred yards away.
I love being out on the ocean. It is so peaceful and beautiful.
When our boat made its way back to the docks, my family and I headed back into town for the night.
It was a great day. 🙂
P.S. What do you think of my new blog design? I’d really appreciate your feedback! Should it stay or go?
